02 prairie 650 wont start. I bought the prairie 650 a month ago, he said it has been sitting for 18 months and was running when he parked it. I cleaned the tank out and rebuilt the carbs. Still wont start. Checked to see if it was firing and it is. Compression "feels" good.

The #155 would be a kit jet likely paired with an aftermarket mystery stepped needle from someone like DynoJet. That may well be your high end rich problem. My Prairie 360 is a 2003. 03 Prairie 360 High Speed Miss / Sputter. I have recently purchased an 03 kaw prairie 360 4x4. This machine starts, idles, and putts around out on the trails for the most part just perfect. The problem is that anytime you need 3/4 to full throttle it spits and sputters in about 1-2 second intervals with probably a few seconds in between.

Just picked up a 2002 650 for dirt cheap. It had 564 hours and 1500 miles on it. The owner told me that it started pinging sound and he just shut it off and left it parked. Anyways...heres what i know. Bike starts easy. pinging/knock is there all the time. Clutch has been removed and the knock is still there.So I figured that the expansion by heat wouldn't let the rockers close the valves all the way. So, it worked. The Prairie starts right up with minimal choking and its engine performance is great. With one problem, though: The valve train is now noisey.
