If the guides are worn outside spec the head must be preplaced. So I would assuume that the guides are not replaceable on the v-twin OHV engine. Briggs has replaceable valve guides for the old L head engines, but are the same size as the old ones if there is bronze guides installed, or the block has to be reamed to install bronze guides.
