Beretta's A300 Ultima doesn't live up to the A390 and A391 lines (nor does the Franchi, Winchester, or any other modern 3-inch shotgun outside of Benelli's Super Black Eagle 3). The Ultima is a good shotgun, but if you can find an old Silver Mallard on the used market, there's no comparison.

I own a Benelli SBE 2, 2 Beretta Teknys 391 Gold Targets and a Beretta 303. Have owned Benelli Supersport and a couple of Beretta Urika 2 391's. My preference is I like the inertia Benelli system for hunting and I like the Beretta gas guns for competition. I have had nothing but reliable service from both.

Wow what a huge difference. On top of the Montefeltro being inertia driven, it's super light too - both factors contributing directly to more recoil.
