Optimized idle not working.
The gear shifter has to be in netural and the splitter flipped up and if someone or something (like dogs) were to bump it it could turn the opti idle off. It has its advantages as it runs off the trucks engine and such. Apus have their own engine and can faulter out. Opti Idle can stop working too though.

Received 3,099 Likes on 2,161 Posts. first of, the key has to be in the run position to set the high idle. if you kick the pedal with the key off, the high idle will not set. the high idle and timing advance are controlled by a temp sensor in the passenger front of the engine almost under the alternator.
