Marlin model 60 buffer upgrade.
Apr 14, 2010 · disassembled the rifle today and discover that the buffer (white plastic part) is broken, so I searched the Rimfire forum here to see what I could find. Not certain if that is what was causing the FTFs, but for sure the buffer needs replacing. Numrich (e-gunparts.com) shows the white plastic buffer as part # 445040B, but that part is out of stock.

Looks like someone just dumped oil/grease in and kept shooting. There are two different buffers, one with a small hole for the pin and one with a larger hole. If you put a buffer with a large hole on a rifle with a small pin you will get more "play".
