There is a seller on Fleabay who usually has unfinished reproduction walnut forearms for marlin LGs. I have not bought one so no comment on the quality.
The Marlin Model 30A (a Glenfield version of the Model 336) was made from 1973 to 1983. Steve is correct, subtract the first two digits of the serial number from 100 to get year of manufacture. There were 268,905 of the Model 30A's made during the production run.I suspect production of this model ceased long before Remington became involved. Model 30AS was also manufactured in 1983 as a Glenfield rifle. Hope this is interesting, if not helpful. By the way, the suggested retail for a Marlin 30AS in 1988 was $277.95.
