Apr 8, 2020 · I have tried a different router. I have replaced the cat 6 cable between the router and the modem. If I connect a laptop to the modem directly, I can get an IP address and get online without issue. If I connect a router (and I do power cycle the modem in between) it just doesn't seem to be able to connect to the DHCP server to get an IP address. Xfinity/Comcast has created this problem, and are unwilling to fix it. We should have the right to use a vpn to keep our info thru e-mailing even more secure, but not w/xfinity. Ive paid Norton to fix the blacklisting, and am done paying them $20.00 a month to solve a problem w/control of my equipment, to fix what using comcast reoccurs.Then, looking on xFi and/or XB7, the DHCP's reserved IP has changed back to the previously-configured static IP!
