Tether distance. I'm having some issues with the tether setting. I've set it to 3, 10, 100, and 999999, but it's always stuck at 180 meters. Does anyone know the issue or how to fix it? After some research, it appears that wildcard just hasn't even acknowledged that this is an issue.

That is called a host tether, and it applies to all singleplayer games when someone joins. Your friend won't be able to go too far away from you before the game plops him down where you are. Even after adjusting Tether Distance in settings before playing, if there is more than 2 players in an non-dedicated server you cant be more than 180 meters without teleporting to each other

Your tether distance is too high, and by some unearthly force that makes you activate hyper speed when you touch water. Just lower your distance to something more reasonable. I'd take a bet that you have it set insanely high so you could just pretend it doesn't exist. #1.
