To the north of the town, you'll find a small barracks, you'll mostly find clothing there, but it will I cludevthe military backpack, which is the best in the game. If you're lucky, you might find some ammo and magazines, but the only gun I've ever found was a 1911.I personally think you should avoid this location, not much loot for the journey

You can also try the "secret" military base. (More south and west than the prison) but will likely be underwhelming once you get there. It would give loot similar to the prison. Lots of military Zeds for those sweet sweet backpacks though
