John Deere delivered my brand new 5065e cab tractor with power reverser a couple days ago. Today was the first day to use it and decided to do some very light shredding with a 2 yr old bush hog 6’ shredder. Everything was good for 20 min. Then I noticed the pto light wasn’t on anymore… sure enough, it wasn’t spinning.It can be set to .060 on each bolt by using 2 1/2" wrench's, loosen lock nut then set clerance, hold bolt and tighten lock nut, this will release the p.t.o clutch sooner when pushing pedal down. If your distance is at .060 when you check it then you will have to split tractor and repair clutch.Start the tractor’s engine and allow it to reach operating temperature. Locate the PTO control and move it to the engaged position. This may involve pushing a lever or flipping a switch. Gradually increase the engine RPM to the recommended PTO speed.
