The 550 has a little more weight and hp than the 450 but uses the same final drives which is always the weakest point on a dozer. The 450 can push fill, grade and landscape. The 550, D4 and definitely the D5 is getting a little big for landscaping IMHO. Although the 450 is a trim dozer since you are pushing downhill you should be fine.

The 450 is a good dozer for fine grading, golf course work, residential grading. The 450c had a bit more power but still just for fine grading. Either way no 450 would be a match for the limestone and rock you're talking about.
