I also save and reload the game to retrieve bolts from beneath bandit corpses that I can not target. (I don't use the F5/9 quicksave/quickloading - I just use the normal save / load process). Sometimes the reload will not result in the corpse and bolt being in different locations - the bolts are are still stuck beneath the corpse.
