No, it should be fine. It doesn't do anything to the game files. You don't need to update it for patches and an expansion is just a really big patch. Gshade works on most games just like Reshade, it just has some extra shaders and packaged presets made with FFXIV in mind. There is nothing about it especially linked to FFXIV.
