Uchigatana or Black knights halberd are very good weapons for a mage when you infuse them to the magic part you want. The Uchigatana is very light and has low requirements, buffed you can defend yourself in melee pretty well without having to put many points in dex/strength. Depends on what you mean by DEX weapons. There are some fairly slow weapons with good DEX scaling for instance. And the Rapier certainly isn't a STR weapon but it has pretty mediocre DEX scaling (and is a DPS machine in spite of this -- mostly because it's fast enough to take advantage of the damage boost rings in the game)
