Slide the carrier up until the crimp tool contacts the base of the shotshell. Pull the handle of the MEC jr down until the crimp is complete. Remove the shotshell from the MEC jr. As your loader comes from the factory the adjustment should be correct for most shells. There are two adjustments that can be made in the final crimp station.

Upgrade the pre-crimp to the "spin-dex" version, this will allow to to achieve any pre-crimp you want. The original one was adjusted using fender washers and only allowed 1/16" adjustments. Once again, if your pre-crimp is black in color this has already been done. Get a new charge bar and a bunch of powder bushings.

Excuse the caps. All my pacific hornady wad fingers are white. Never tried them on a mec. OLD lee fingers do but are discontinued. They are for the old mallet tool aluminum tube wad guide for the deluxe kit. Seen at gun shows in junk boxes and MAYBE gun parts/numrich if you deep search. Not lee wad guide or load all fingers.

Burnt Powder. Wipe the dirt off and oil the parts that move with the exception of the charge bar and the hinge where the top folds back. They do not need any lubrication. I have thousands of once-fired old-style AA .410 hulls and some of them refuse to accept even a Winchester primer easily. After some encouragement from members on this site to an earlier post, I went out and found the box with my 12 ga reloader. I believe it is a MEC JR 600. I am trying to figure out if it is a Mark 5. I went to the mec site and it is NOT an 82-85 because it does not have the model embossed on the base.
