A friend of mine wanted me to make a poll here. Totally new to roguelikes and he's deciding between these two (I suggested ToME, but he'd rather start with one of these). He wants to sink his teeth into one roguelike for many years, and would like one with an active community surrounding it. Both DCSS and Angband seem to fit the bill. Cheers.
