The only way I can get it to work is by reversing all the way into the trailer. Then while inside the cab, hit V and the option to attach is there. If I’m outside and try attaching like a normal car, I don’t get the option.
You do not need a rope for this. You need to back up the truck quite close (~1 tile) to the trailer > stand at the back of thruck and press V > attach trailer to the truck.
