Oct 28, 2012 · Hello All - Recently purchased an HK45 Compact Tactical (v1 - decock and manual safety). Went to the range with it for the first time yesterday and wanted to share my opinion and a few photos. By the way new to the forum and first time out shooting a handgun! Think I did fairly well. The pistol fit my hand well and I enjoyed shooting it very much.

Might not be for everyone, but for $100 it can't be beat. Held zero so far after hundreds of rounds and allowed me to hit steel out to 75 yards with no problem.HK 45c made in Germany. For your first pistol, the 9mm would probably be a better option. The P30 is a bit bulky (IMO) for optimal CCW but has the larger capacity for HD, the HK45c is perfect for both but has the 8 round capacity (unless you get the very bulky elephant foot) and .45 isn't ideal for your first handgun. Hk45 V1 vs. V7. LGS has both. The V7 is $300 more than the V1. Can someone explain the LEM trigger and if it's worth the price difference? Go to the LGS and handle both; that's the only way you'll cure your curiosity with the LEM trigger. Take it a step further and try those 2 pistols against a VP9 (striker) and a Sig w/the DAK trigger (f'n awful).
The factory HK45c grip is slippier because the grip pattern is less aggressive and thinner (no palm swells) than the HK45 and P30. It takes more time and effort to master the grip to maintain a firm no-slip hold shot-to-shot. But of course, you can always buy and Talon grip or a Hogue Handall to make the grip better.
