Thrusting Swords are a type of Weapon in Dark Souls 3. These Weapons usually do little to moderate damage per swing, but attack rather quickly, have good reach, and are capable of punishing counter-attacks. Many can also attack from behind a raised shield. Thrusting Swords replace the kick with a quick retreating attack that does minor damage.

I use a Dark Estoc +10 on my SL120 Pyro build that hits pretty hard. Definitely pisses people off. I don't start with my pyro glove visible so once people get frustrated (with the Estoc or Witch's Locks) I'll start snaking them with the magics. (Although my Pyro build is still not really great at PVP... maybe a 0.35-0.4 KDR.)Estoc for parrying and poking, balder for the fast attack, little stamina loss and fast regeneration. Ricard's is the kind of balanced one if it takes a semblance of skill to use. All the rapiers are op. Estoc simply the best of them. In a weapon tier list you would have to go down 5 places to find a weapon that isn't a rapier. I feel the same as you.

A dex build is really lame until you reach the higher levels. I recommend a dex/int build. You'll end up a spellsword. Make sure to get your weapon (estoc, ricard's rapier, balder side sword) to +15 asap. With a good buff (crystal magic weapon) you'll do great damage. I think the estoc is better, partly because there is the slashing attack for when that may come in handy. Estoc, hands down. Thrusting swords are obviously poking weapons. Estoc has the best range. You will most likely not hit anyone decent with the Ricard WA very often. So pick Estoc and laugh at any hatemail you might get. And pair it with a BK Shield or Lothric Knight Shield.
