I had this happen when I had my 2003, I thought it was my brake box, but I found out that if you have the climate control set to blow out the vents, which is all the way counter clockwise, it is like it is trying to move the door under the dash too far and I would get a clicking sound.For the un-informed, this is when your beloved engine starts to make an EXTREMELY annoying, loud tapping (ticking, clacking, etc.) sound similar to a valve or lifter tapping on a gasser. 2011 Chevy Silverado HD3500 - Duramax. The truck is one year old. I just did the second oil change because I was going on a cross-country trip. While picking up my camper, I hear the infamous ticking noise. One year ago, I had the water pump replaced due to a service bulletin. I thought it was the water pump starting to fail again.

It does not sound like necessarily coming from the engine but in the front loser to the grill. Before I take it in and have looked at, I thought I would get someones opinion. 2019 Chevy Duramax L5P Ticking. Engine has a pretty loud tick when I first start it up, sounds like it’s coming from the drivers side but it’s hard to determine.
