Duramax p0090.
This morning I changed my thermostats in the truck because one was stuck open. I changed it by removing serp belt, ac compressor, removing the two main plugs that rest above the hardline to the upper rad hose. No problem changing them out but I put everything back together and I immediately get a P0090 code.

If you have a bidirectional scan tool, you should be able to activate it through the tool. The next thing to check is signal and ground to the solenoid. Ill do that. Thxs. EGR delete by my definition is complete removal of system components which is a highly invasive and unnecessary procedure. It also requires ECM programming to deal with the DTC’s associated with removal of the EGR motor. Save ShareThis is also something that is not very common on these Duramax engines but it happens more often than an ECM issue. The most common problem on the Duramax is the EGR. That and head gasket issues. As far as electrical issues, this is really the only other one I know of. ECM issues are not common at all.

On the way home from Antrim last month, after just filling up at the station by the track, my truck started getting the loud injector rattle that comes along with the rail pressure being to high from a bad or disconnected fpr. Shortly after the truck went into reduced power mode and a P0090 code came up.

You can also open the bleeder screw -- to let any air out. It is a black PLASTIC screw next to the primer pump. Be caredul tightening it back up --it can break. P0090 is fuel pressure regulator control circuit- I doubt it would keep it from starting, but would definitely affect the way it runs by the regulator not operating properly.
