BUT I’d like to have a very honest/frank discussion about Wilson’s finishes, primarily the Armor Tuff finish. Note: I own one factory blued Wilson.

The first thing I'd like to compare is the thumb safeties on these pistols. As you can see Wilson uses smaller low-profile right side only safety while the Dan Wesson has a large ambi offering made by EGW.

With one exception, it had everything I wanted in a combat 1911 pistol. This pistol has a matte coating that has a ceramic base. Wilson guns don't compete with guns in the Valor/Les Baer class point for point, generally speaking. I have a Sig 1911 which shoots and feeds everything and it's accurate. I also am lucky enough to have a Dan Wesson Marksman which is exceptional, the fit, the finish and reliability plus it's very accurate. Dan Wesson are seriously worth looking at, and bang for buck are very hard to beat.
