My problem with canals is that they only cover 1 tile, they should cover from 1 to 3 tiles. Covering three tiles is exactly what the panama canal can do. Plus, if a city is one tile off of a body of water a three tile waterway can be made from coast to city to another coast or lake.

Hercules gets me districts quick, which is great for my Civs on new continents. Hippolyta is great in war bc she can give a unit a second charge in a turn.
