I have a similar set up as OP with different style wheels, I've noticed a 5-10% drop in range on trips. On Las Vegas to So Cal run sometimes I have to stop at a supercharger sooner than I used to with stock set up. We put 255/45/19 Michelins on Geminis on my wife's MYP, and the tire looks super stretched as it is. I cannot imagine a narrower tire working well. I snapped this pic as a joke between her car and my Land Cruiser, but it shows how stretched the tire is on the Tesla and how exposed the rim is especially compared with how an off road tire does ...NEW MYP. The model X has a much higher probability of exterior fit and finish issues related to FWD alignment, seals, trim. Unless your wife wants the bigger, faster, more “prestige” vehicle, the model X is not worth the premium. The Y is the better everyday vehicle. You can do $2000 coil overs for better comfort.
