The .45-70 Govt is very effective out to around 150 yards with minimal bullet drop, but it’s capable of great accuracy and longer range shooting as well.

I believe manufacture stopped about 1915, with approximately 30,000 total production or less. 1895's of any calibre or condition are rare.
