This second comparison chart shows the weight of the XD-S Mod.2 9mm up against some of the other popular single-stack pistols as well as the XD Mod.2 9mm Sub-Compact, Ruger LCP II and Glock 19 with a Trijicon RMR and Streamlight TLR-1 HR. I added the non-single stack pistols just as a reference.The XD is dimensionally almost identical to the Glock 19. Both pistols are 7.3 inches long with a 4-inch barrel. The XD weighs 26 ounces with an unloaded magazine, while the Glock weighs 23.63 ounces.I have owned the Glock models 17, 19, 26, 36, 22, and 27. I have owned the XD models 45C, 9SC and recently purchased a XD40. Overall, I like the Glocks more than the XD's. The Glocks are lighter and balance better in the hand and I like the Glock's trigger more than the trigger on the XDs.

The glock 19 is not that much larger than an XD subcompact. It fits in as a compact between a subcompact and a service model. Same old answer then, buy what you like.
